Sales Contract

At The Dachshund Cottage, we believe in complete transparency. Our sales contract protects both you and your new puppy. Below is a summary of the key terms included in every purchase agreement.

Purchase Price

All Miniature Dachshund puppies are priced at $800. This price includes age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchip, AKC registration papers, a 2-year health guarantee, and a puppy care kit. Shipping or delivery fees are separate.

Deposit & Payment

A non-refundable deposit of $200 is required to reserve a puppy. The remaining balance is due before pickup or delivery. We accept payments via Zelle, CashApp, or bank transfer. The deposit is applied toward the total purchase price.

Health Guarantee

Each puppy comes with a 2-year written health guarantee covering genetic and hereditary conditions. The buyer is required to have the puppy examined by a licensed veterinarian within 72 hours of receipt. See our Health Guarantee page for full details.

Spay/Neuter Requirement

All puppies sold as pets (non-breeding) must be spayed or neutered by 6-8 months of age. The buyer must provide a veterinary certificate of the procedure within 30 days of completion. AKC registration papers will be provided on limited registration unless breeding rights are purchased separately.

Buyer Responsibilities

The buyer agrees to provide proper care including quality food, clean water, shelter, regular veterinary checkups, and a safe living environment. The puppy must not be kept outdoors permanently, used for breeding without written consent, or surrendered to a shelter without first contacting The Dachshund Cottage.

Return Policy

If at any time you are unable to keep your puppy, The Dachshund Cottage must be contacted first. We will assist in rehoming the dog or accept the dog back into our care. We never want one of our puppies to end up in a shelter. Refunds are not available after the puppy has been delivered, except as outlined in the health guarantee.

Shipping & Delivery

Shipping costs are separate from the purchase price. Airport pickup is available for $155 and home delivery for $225. In-person pickup is also available for free. See our Shipping & Delivery page for full details.

Breeding Rights

Breeding rights are not included in the standard purchase price. If you are interested in breeding rights, please contact us to discuss pricing and additional contract terms. Unauthorized breeding of our puppies is a violation of the sales contract.
